So, today at work I had a big reminder of why I love my day job.
One of my members, Valorie, came to me about two months ago and told me that she was ready to start a nutrition plan and really work her butt off to lose some weight. So, together we started the Curves nutrition plan, or, our version of it. We weren’t following it by the book, but definitely using the core principles. I was supposed to start with her, but I cheated majorly and gave up. Then, at her weekly weigh in, she had lost 4 pounds and a body fat percentage, I was completely inspired and of course, actually held up my end of the deal and joined her on the nutrition plan.
So today we started our summer challenge at the club, in which everyone puts in 20 dollars and in order to get your money back you have to work out 20 times and weigh the same or less at the end. So, Val had to be weighed and measured for the challenge. So today she weighed in 13 pounds lighter and 15 inches smaller than on my birthday when we started this whole thing, March 16th. I’m just so proud of her commitment and drive. She has gone on vacations, been to amazing dinner parties etc. and she has stuck to it with amazing results. Its awesome to be a part of her journey. And incredibly inspiring. Not to mention that I have lost 2 percent body fat since she started. Coincedence? I think not.Women like Valorie are why I love my day job.
