I LOVE LAMP!

I’ve been finding myself singing for no apparent reason lately, I’m taking this as a good sign.

I’m dancing down aisles in grocery stores, I’m *smile pimping everyone on the streets

People would think I’m in love, and they would be right, just in the wrong way.

Wait, that makes sense doesn’t it? Right in the wrong way?

Actually that’s got a nice ring, I’m quite proud of that, “right in the wrong way”

Anyway, right in the wrong way, when you say you’re in love people assume its with another person. Obviously, I fall in love with almost every person I meet, so I think for me, that doesn’t apply correctly.

I am in love with EVERYTHING.

I don’t know how to explain it better than that.

I’m seeing these weird magical connections in people.

I’m having chance encounters that are leading to crazy opportunities.

I’m following my dream for real this time, not just corner bits and pieces that are less intimidating.

I’m truly enjoying peoples talents, really allowing myself to take it all in and appreciate what each person has to offer. Whether it be their amazing vocal, the way babies and puppies seem to love them, their ability to find anything you need on the internet within 23 seconds (that is a true gift).

I’m literally in love with lamp.

it gives me a nice soft light, bright enough to read and write, but mellow enough for me to know its close to tuck in time. And its right by my bed so when I’m tired, I just reach to the left and turn it off.

Its the little things, I men here was a time people used candles, I would be a goner with all of this hair.

Oh how I ramble.

Things just feel right.

Oh, and my dog drew a picture of me…

SO there’s that….but seriously, the hair, the mouth, the eye? she scratched it on the bathroom rug after sitting on my chest and staring at me intensely for about 5 minutes. (you have to kind of cock your head to the left, but its there)

What was I talking about?

Oh yeah, being in love with absolutely EVERYTHING!

something about, right now, this moment in time, this place, this life, is starting to make sense, even in all of its nonsense, and I am ready to dive in, scratch that, I am diving, accepting the challenges with a smile, and the knowledge that I will succeed, I will excel, I will be scared sometimes, but I’ll replace it with love and the joy of knowing that I am following my purpose…Basically, I’m gonna rock Kasi Jones till the wheels fall off, then I’ll pull over build new better, faster stronger ones and keep on ROCKIN ya’ll!

I realize this blog gives no real information about whats going on, but that is all coming soon

and I think, you all are going to be as excited as I am, I cannot wait.

Oh, and smile pimping is when you stare at someone with a big ridiculous smile and make eye contact until they are forced to smile back or call the cops. Its like a pimp slap, but better.

Sheer Cover…Yes, that is me.

So, a while ago, like, forever ago, my good friend Ronnie called me and said, “hey girl, totally random, I’m doing a sheer cover infomercial tomorrow, the girl I was going with bailed, you wanna come?”

Duh I want to come! I love infomercials and was dying to see how it all went down!

I was not so happy when she picked me up the next morning at 730am, I maybe had gotten too excited about it, and maybe had a few too many drinks the night before…maybe

SO, we went, and I won’t go into details, but it was a really fun day, LONG, but fun.

Leeza Gibbons is amazing, I was really impressed by her grace and presence.

OH, but you know what was weird, Leann Rhymes and I kept making awkward eye contact then nervously looking away…although, thinking about it now, I may have just been staring at her, and she may have just been looking away out of fear and confusion….either way, the girl can sing!

So yes, its me! I just thought I should post something because I keep getting Facebooked and emailed about it lol.

Be a Part of “Genesis: The World’s First Team of Black Superheroes”

Some of you know, but too many of you do not, that I have been working with Writer/Director Teresa Dowell-Vest for the past few years on bringing her story “Genesis: The World’s First Team of Black Superheroes” to life.
I met Teresa as a student in one of her on camera acting courses, and the day I met her, I noticed the desktop background on her laptop, It was a vision board of Genesis, and from that first day, I knew that this film would be made, and I knew that I wanted in. But at that point, my picture was not on her vision board, but, you can be sure that that night, Genesis went on mine. Every week in class she would talk about the work she was doing and every night I would pray, pray for a chance to be involved in what will surely be a historical project. I didn’t know who or how, I just knew that I would be a part of Genesis.
Teresa cast me in a production of Pearl Cleage’s “Flyin’ West” that she was directing, and during the rehearsal process she invited us to read the script, it was the first draft and has gone through rewrites now, but I remember going home after a huge rehearsal, exhausted, and I didn’t get to bed until 3am for reading Genesis, I could not put it down! And of course I cast myself in ALL of the female roles at that point, lol. But there were two that I absolutely connected to, the eldest of the Heroes, Taige, and the baby of the villians, Rachel.
Well, you can imagine my delight, when I received a call from Teresa asking me if I would be interested in playing Rachel in a filmed reading of Genesis. Lets be honest here, I almost peed my pants.

Luba Mason Video Shoot

So, a friend of mine just forwarded me the link to a music video I did with Luba Mason (the stunningly beautiful Broadway Diva). It was again one of those things where a friend called and said she needed three very different women for this shoot, and if I was free would I be one of them. I said yes…obviously, lol.

And it ended up being one of those gorgeous perfect days, where you meet amazing people, everyone is a pleasure to work with, and you go to sleep feeling content.

Not to mention, that I spent most of the day salsa dancing with Francesco Mino, who is just a Drop Dead Gorgeous hunk of Italian man.

The thing is, anytime I get to wear a pretty dress I’m at least 97% happy

Roger Daltrey/I love my life right now!

SOOOO….I had never been to the Hollywood Bowl before Friday night,and actually once when a friend was making fun of me for living right by it and never going, I flippantly responded, “I’ll see it when I sing there…” (little did I know).
Wednesday I got a text message from a friend of mine in New York, “What are you doing Friday night? My sister needs a singer for a gig…not a lot of pay, but its Roger Daltrey (from The Who) and the Hollywood Bowl.”
!!!!!!!!!
Duh, I said yes.
And the whole experience was fantastic. It was opening night of the Bowl, and Josh Groban was being inducted into the “Hollywood Bowl Hall of Fame” so there were a ton of AMAZING performers.
We went on the top of the second act, which was great because we set on stage during intermission, which meant we could look out at the house (18,000 strong), once the stage lights come up you cant see anything. The energy was incredible, the orchestra was incredible, the choir was incredible, He was incredible…I’m still buzzing a little.
We sang two songs, Pinball Wizard and Feel Me, and were done. Awesome.

And can I just say that Roger Daltrey is a dream of a man?! So sweet, came backstage afterwards and introduced himself to all of us, took pictures, signed autographs, and was just overall perfect in every way.

AAAAHHHHH…..Even when life is bad, life is good, But when life is good, its REALLY GOOD!
